BGF engineers carbon fabric for applications where high strength and
lightweight properties are a requirement. Our carbon fabric is produced at the Carbon Weaving
Facility in Cheraw , SC. BGF's carbon fabric meets Boeing specification BMS9-8 as well
as other major airframe manufacturer's specifications. In order to maintain maximum structural
integrity in aircraft, BGF's carbon fabric delivers the ultimate
degree of stiffness as well as reduced weight, making it a superior reinforcement fabric
for aerospace applications.
BGF's carbon fabric utilizes precursors from PAN and Pitch based fibers. PAN carbon fabric
utilizes Acrylonitrilte (AN), which is used as a raw material in acrylic fibers, and other
materials. PAN based carbon fibers are used to make composites that are the greatest in
strength and lightest in weight. Pitch based carbon fibers have lower mechanical properties
and are not typically used in structural applications. Both PAN and Pitch based fibers
produce high strength, light weight carbon fabric for a variety of applications. Our carbon
fabric is made from 3K, 4K, 6K, and 12K carbon fibers.
