BGF has been manufacturing fire resistant cloth for over
60 years. Our fiberglass fabric is inherently fire resistant and is used in many commercial applications
were fire codes are very stringent.
Fire resistant cloth is woven from inorganic glass fibers that are noncombustible
and non conductive, a natural choice where flammability is a concern.
BGF's fiberglass fabrics are used for many commercial applications where fire codes must
be adhered to:
- Ceiling tiles – Our ceiling tile facing is a fire resistant cloth used on ceiling tiles
in commercial buildings. It provides excellent fire resistant properties and the finish
is low toxic and low smoke generating to meet commercial building codes
- Smoke & Fire Curtains – BGF's fiberglass cloth is made into smoke and fire curtains
which are built into the ceiling structure of commercial buildings and large warehouses.
The fire resistant cloth panels contain the smoke and give ample time for building evacuation.
- Window Shades & Blinds – BGF produces fire resistant cloth for vertical blinds
and window shades. These decorative products add style to any commercial building and
provide the added safety of being fire resistant as well.
- Air Filtration Bags – BGF manufactures fire resistant cloth for dust collection to
withstand the harsh industrial environments and intense heat of particulate air filtration
in factories and large utilities.
- Composite Structures – Fiberglass, Kevlar®, and carbon fibers are high strength
fire resistant yarns woven to create a high performance fire resistant cloth used in
aircraft for interiors and primary structures. Carbon fabric is used for its fire resistance,
strength, and lightweight characteristics. Most of our carbon fabrics meet Boeing specifications
for fire resistant cloth. Kevlar fabric offers excellent thermal protection and the fiber
is inherently fire resistant. The fire resistance properties of Kevlar fabric for body
armor and protective applications is a necessity. Fiberglass fiber is composed of inorganic
materials and is noncombustible and nonflammable. Fiberglass cloth can withstand operating
temperatures of 1000º F for extended periods of time.
Automotive
Heat Shields - BGF produces fire resistant cloth that is used for heat shields, floor
board insulation, and catalytic converter insulation. Our fire resistant cloth is also
used as a fire barrier in upholstery in automobiles, buses, and high performance race
cars.
