BGF INDUSTRIES SUCCESSFULLY UPGRADES TO ISO 9001:2000
Greensboro, NC BGF Industries, Inc, a world leader in the manufacture of technical textiles, successfully upgraded its ISO registration to 9001:2000. The new registration was issued by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) on July 24, 2003.
ISO 9001:2000 requires organizations to plan and manage the processes necessary for the continual improvement of the quality management system. The intent of the ISO standard is to provide a universal baseline for quality management, which can be used by companies around the world.
"A key factor in BGF’s upgrade to ISO 9001:2000 was the integration of the design and development processes into the quality management system", commented Robby Dunnagan, BGF's Vice-President of Sales & Marketing. Dunnagan added, "the move to a more comprehensive ISO 9001:2000 demonstrates BGF's continued commitment to providing its customers with superior products and service."
BGF was the first weaver of fiberglass and Kevlar® fabrics in the United States to be certified to ISO 9002 in 1992. BGF’s ISO 9001:2000 registration includes the Corporate Headquarters and Research facility in Greensboro, North Carolina and manufacturing locations in Altavista Virginia; South Hill, Virginia and Cheraw, South Carolina.
